Window cleaning, when done thoroughly, not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of a building but also allows more natural light to penetrate the space, creating a brighter and more welcoming environment. 

Here’s a detailed look at the process of window cleaning

1. Preparation: Before starting the actual cleaning, professionals will remove any screens on windows and dust the window frames and sills. This prevents any accumulated dirt from mixing with the cleaning solution and streaking the glass later.

2. Choosing the Right Tools and Solutions: The right tools are crucial for effective window cleaning. The cleaning solution used is usually a mix of water and a window cleaning soap that efficiently removes dirt without damaging the glass or leaving streaks. We clean ground floor windows inside and out. 1st Floor windows are cleaned inside only unless access to the outside can be gained from inside for example velux.

3. Scrubbing the Glass: Using the scrubber or brush, the cleaner applies the solution to the glass in a circular motion to loosen dirt, grime, and any other residues like bird droppings or fingerprints. Special attention is given to corners and edges where dirt tends to accumulate.

4. Squeegee Technique: After the glass has been thoroughly scrubbed, the squeegee is used to remove the water and cleaning solution. Starting at the top of the window and moving downwards in a reverse-S pattern helps ensure that no drips or streaks are left behind. The edge of the squeegee blade is wiped with a clean cloth after each pass to avoid transferring dirt back onto the window.

5. Detailing Edges: After the majority of the moisture has been squeegeed off, the edges and corners of the glass are wiped with a microfiber cloth to absorb any remaining drips and ensure a clean, sharp finish.

6. Cleaning Window Screens: If the windows have screens, these are usually cleaned separately. The process typically involves gently washing the screens with a soft brush and a mild soap solution, then rinsing them thoroughly with water. They need to be completely dry before being replaced.

7. Final Inspection and Touch-Ups: Once the windows are cleaned, a final inspection is carried out to check for any missed spots or streaks. Any necessary touch-ups are made to ensure the windows are perfectly clear and streak-free.
